Mixed Signal Engineer


The Mixed-Signal Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, developing, laying out, and testing of high precision mixed-signal electronics (Analog and Digital), electro-acoustical systems, components, and modules for both prototyping and production.

Additional responsibilities include supporting and upgrading existing product lines, in-house and field failure analysis, and vendor communications/sourcing.


Precision Mixed Signal Circuit design, analysis, simulation, layout, and testing experience. Specifically:

  • Working knowledge of Analog precision circuits: Low noise and Low distortion preamps, Feedback amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, RLC Filters, LDOs, Buck and Boost converters, Timers, PLLs, Crystal Oscillators, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Digital circuits: Microcontrollers, digital logic, state machines, Timers.
  • Strong understanding of layout concepts in both Analog and High Speed Mixed-signal designs: PCB floor planning, Power and Signal layer distributions, Transmission Line impedances, matching IO impedances, Power and Ground planes, Signal and Power Routing, Vias, Shielding, RF and ESD protection etc.

Understanding of common Analog and Digital Audio interfaces and protocols: Balanced Phantom Power and Transformer coupled Preamps, Unbalanced and High Z inputs, USB, I2S, SPDIF, ADAT and AVB.

Basic acoustic knowledge: Condenser/Dynamic Microphones, Preamplifiers, Speakers, Power amplifiers and other electro acoustic components.

Experience with MATLAB/Octave/Python and C programming.

Doing data acquisition and post processing related to electro-acoustic measurements using DSP techniques including, but not limited to: FFTs, correlation, convolution, and FIR & IIR filters.

Operates computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks. Altium and Tina experience are highly desirable.

Performs detailed calculations and simulations while implementing engineering theory to achieve performance specifications and standards.

Designs, maintains, or improves production electrical instruments, equipment, products, or systems.

Documents projects and prepares technical drawings and specifications of electronics/electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

Prepares specifications for purchases of components, materials or equipment and develops vendor and lab relationships.


Must have a BS in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

Masters in an associated field or 3+ years experience designing High-Performance Mixed-Signal Systems.

Materials Specialist

Job Description:

The materials specialist is a detail-oriented manufacturing position that supports production inputs and outputs.  Safety and quality are the materials specialist’s top priorities.

You are responsible for the following tasks: packaging finished goods, building packaging sub-assemblies, kitting production parts, operating the laser engraver, and performing other duties listed under Essential Functions.

This position requires consistent effort and attention for repetitive tasks: assembling, inspecting, cleaning, packing, unpacking, counting, and documentation.  Primary tasks will be supervised by the production foreman, and you should expect to be self-sufficient once you’ve been trained.

Essential Functions (Priority high to low):

  • Keep compliant with COVID-19, quality, and safety policies.

  • Keep the work area clean.

  • Assemble finished goods packaging per verbal/documented specifications.

  • Make timely deliveries of finished goods to shipping.

  • Assemble packaging materials per verbal/documented specifications.

  • Maintain designated sub-assembly quantities per set reorder points/reorder amounts.

  • Kit/containerize inbound material from the machine shop and vendors.

  • Put inbound materials in their correct containers in their correct location.

  • Safely operate the laser engraving machine.

  • Monitor inventory for: correct container, correct storage location, correct labeling.

  • Accurately document inventory consumption within the order management system.

  • Perform regular cycle counts as scheduled or directed.

  • Uphold a professional work environment.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts.

  • Regular and consistent attendance at the Milford location is required.

Working Environment:

Some exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can occasionally be loud. Safety equipment is available and must be used.  

Physical Demand:

This position is active and requires some standing, walking, climbing, and lifting. The employee may lift and move items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position.  Days of work are Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.


  • Strong attention to detail required.

  • Must be able to use hand tools, adhesives, computers, and other light equipment.

  • Previous production/manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Ability to read, print, and speak English.

  • A positive, team-oriented attitude is preferred.


Reports directly to the production foreman.  All inventory transactions are to be correctly performed/documented in the order management system.

CNC Machinist

Job Description:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing machined components by programming, setting up, and operating a variety of computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with the shop leadership to manage the flow of work through the shop, ensuring quality and timely production
  • Performs setup tooling and fixturing
  • Able to run select machines in the department
  • Able to consistently maintain close tolerances
  • Working knowledge of G&M code
  • Able to follow both verbal and written instructions including blueprints/technical drawings and communication from supervisor
  • Performs both visual and dimensional inspection of parts to assure conformance to blueprints and quality plans
  • Participates in First-Part QA process
  • Coordinate tasks through the production management system
  • Participate in continuous improvement of programs and procedures
  • Upholds and interruption-free work environment
  • Maintains equipment by scheduling and performing preventive maintenance – also following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs
  • Keeps shop clean and safe while adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Communicates consumption and need for raw stock to maintain appropriate inventory for current and upcoming jobs
  • Regular and consistent attendance at the Milford Manufacturing location is required

Job Type/Expected Hours of work:  Full-time; Non-exempt; three 12-hr days

Preferred Education and experience:  1+ years experience in team-oriented electro-mechanical manufacturing including operation of CNC machines. Tsugami and Mazak experience is a plus. HS degree or GED required. A two-year college degree in a relevant vocational tech program or additional equivalent experience is preferred. Experience using Fanuc controllers, CAMWorks, or other CAM programs is a plus.
