Can just one microphone truly do it all? The SR20 microphone is a workhorse microphone that was designed with versatility in mind. Whether it’s vocals in the studio or guitar amp onstage, the SR20 was meant to be your desert island microphone.
We wanted to test the SR20’s limits to see how this $599 microphone would fare in a world-class recording studio as the only microphone used for the recording session.
With that in mind, we teamed up with Earthworks Artist Hernan Romero, Music Producer Rich Tozzoli and The Clubhouse Studio owner Paul Antonell to find out just how well our SR20 microphone would capture vocals, piano, acoustic guitar, cajon, clapping and snapping for Romero’s original song Estela.
Check out Estela below to see what Hernan, Rich and Paul were able to do with a pair of SR20s and a few channels of zero distortion at The Clubhouse Studio in Rhinebeck, NY.
