One Microphone to Rule Them All

Experimenting with the New SV33 Studio Vocal Microphone

Ever wondered what a mailing box wrapped in tape sounds like as a kick drum? What about a cigar box snare? Or a coffee bean tin that makes a really weird sound?

Producer/Engineer Julian Chan had some fun with the SV33 experimenting with some out of the ordinary instruments and added in some vocal, homemade cajon, shaker and tambourine elements.

Recorded from the SV33 to the Earthworks ZDT Preamp direct into Pro Tools. Zero processing on anything in Pro Tools instead of some tuning correction wiht Melodyne and some timing correction with Elastic Audio.

Check out the video below to go along for the ride as Julian takes his samples into Pro Tools and has some fun experimenting with the SV33.
