“Earthworks microphones are the clearest representation of my voice. The SR20 and SR40V microphones suit my needs both as a solo looper performance and with a band. They almost never feedback which for a stage condenser is incredible. I would recommend these microphones to any serious professional.”

Q&A with Tim

Q: How long have you been using Earthworks products?

A: 2 years.

Q: What Earthworks products are you using?

A: SR20 and SR40V

Q: Favorite Earthworks product?

A: SR40V

Q: What is your favorite thing about Earthworks products and their performance?

A: For live looping, the hardest thing is finding a microphone. A live loop performance requires the microphone to sound good beat boxing, sound great singing, all while not feeding back. I avoided using condenser mics for this reason, until I tried the SR40V.

Q: Best tip for using Earthworks?

A: Don’t sound bad, because these microphones don’t lie!

Q: Career highlights?

A: Shared the stage with Allen Stone, Thundercat. Nominated for 3 Hawaiian music awards (2016, 2017), Music video “Sirens” won “Best Music Video” at the Yosemite film festival 2016.

Q: Anything else you’d like to share?

A: On my most recent project the background vocals were scratch recorded with the sr40v— and they sounded so good that we left them on the recording. If it’s not broken— don’t fix it!
